She also explained the spiritual side is the volcano which was really interesting.

  Wayan our driver picked me up at 2am exactly (the agreed time), his English was amazing and he was a very safe driver despite the roads being very windy. We... read more got there much earlier than the other tours which was amazing as Wayan suggested we hire jackets (MUCH NEEDED) and we definitely got the best ones. We then met our lovely local guide Suri. She was very knowledgeable about the mountain and the surroundings. She made me feel very safe hiking up the mountain in the dark. We smashed out the hike up and were at the summit for a while. I would recommend if you are fit to slow down as it is freezing up the top. Sadly we didn’t see a sunrise as it was to cloudy but overall it was a great experience!
